ABOUT CENTRAL PLACEMENT CELL (CPC)

BACKGROUND:

Central Placement Cell is functioning under the administrative control of Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Odisha(DTE&T), Cuttack under Skill Development and Technical Education (SD&TE), Odisha. We are having large database through registration in CPC portal of Diploma and ITI pass out students of different Government ITIs, Government / Private Engineering Schools & Polytechnics. Central Placement Cell became functional since December, 2013.

OBJECTIVES:

The main endeavor of CPC is to get students of different Government ITIs, Government / Private Engineering Schools & Polytechnics placed in reputed companies, registered job contractors, registered service providers, multinational companies, government jobs, NGO’s, Corporate Houses, Central/State sector PSUs/ Private sector Industries, MSME etc.

All registered students with CPC are entitled to placement assistance, counseling for employment and self employment. The CPC shall have the following mandates:
 Identification of student’s potential and mapping their competencies.
 Cataloguing the database of students (their specialization, interest and academic performance).
 Providing interlink for the enthusiastic talent ready to explore new horizons alongside the growing requirement of the corporate world.
 Working as platform for molding the students according to the requirements of the corporate world and R&D Departments.
 Designing a web-based job-search portal for the Directorate.
 Carrying out career counseling for students at the District Resource Centers(Employment Exchanges) and Placement Cells of Government ITIs & Polytechnics.
 Consciously work towards bridging the gap that exist between Industry and academia as well as administering all the placements activities.

VISION:

To providing interlink for the enthusiastic talent ready to explore new horizons alongside the growing requirement of the corporate world, knowledge, skill and attitude in order to make them fit to the requirements of Emerging world of work. Contributing towards reducing demand vs. supply gap of skilled manpower and empowering youth of the state with internationally accepted job specific skill set.
To become a nationally acclaimed organization that would serve as a lands scape towards bridging the skill gap that exists between industry and academia as well as administrating all the placement activities with a patriotic prospective.

MISSION:

Skilling Youths for the National Cause Under the “Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme” Central Placement Cell is assigned to Interface with Finishing school & Advanced Training Institutes and meet the employment generation target given to DTE&T. To performing the coordination work very smoothly as a result of which, the placement ratio of unemployed youths has increased considerably and is expected to maintain the pace.
